Welcome! We have made some changes in the park this year…

We’ve made some adjustments to keep our guests and staff safe.

Here are some of the changes you’ll see:

Reduced capacity

Reduced Capacity

We are limiting the number of guests in the park to allow for physical distancing and requiring guests to book their passes for the day so we can manage this capacity. Guests should remain 6 feet apart from other guests that are not in their family unit.

touch free

New Ticketing Policy

For entry, all guests must pre-purchase passes online for a specific day. Once inside, guests are encouraged to use touch free payment options. Credit or debit is our preferred method of payment, but cash can be used in exceptional circumstances. Read more on our new ticketing procedure here.

Increased Cleaning

Increased Cleaning Procedures

We have increased cleaning procedures, such as disinfecting ride handles throughout the day.

Mask Policy

As our safety checks and the nature of our rides may not allow for guests and staff to self distance, guests over 36″ tall and staff will be required to wear a mask while loading, riding, and unloading all of the rides, for the entire duration of the ride. While areas within the park allow for physical distancing, it is recommended that guests wear masks throughout their stay. Guests will not be required to wear masks in the waterpark area, while swimming or on slides, but must take appropriate steps to ensure physical distancing. Hand sanitizer is available in multiple locations to assist with proper donning and doffing of masks. Staff will be trained in the proper procedures for donning and doffing non-medical masks. Guests with medical concerns about wearing a mask should consult with a medical professional prior to attending the park, as our current guidance from Public Health Officials during the COVID-19 pandemic is that those with severe breathing difficulty should avoid public places where physical distancing may be difficult. As the masks are intended to protect staff and other guests, exemptions to the mask policy cannot be made.

Healthy People Only

No guest, employee or contractor shall enter the property if they are exhibiting the following symptoms:cough (new or exacerbated chronic), fever/chills, sore throat, marked fatigue, sneezing, congestion, body aches, runny nose.

Temperature Screening

We have installed temperature checks for everyone entering the property, including guests, employees, vendors and contractors. Temperatures should be below 100.4 to enter the park.

Extra Sanitizer Stations

We are adding additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility, on entry, key walkways, in food service areas.  All those entering the park must exhibit good hand hygiene.

Installed Barriers

Installed barriers between guest and staff in frequent, close interaction areas to reduce contamination. These barriers will be cleaned frequently.

Reduced Capacity on Rides

To facilitate adherence to physical distancing guidelines, we will be reducing capacity on some rides and closing other attractions and food service outlets. Review the attractions list below to find out what we are operating.

6 feet apart

Follow the stickers

We’ve have marked physical distancing guidelines in appropriate areas.  Where unmarked, guests should continue to maintain 6 feet of separation between groups.

A few more things to note…

Lawn chairs will be placed in bubble groups of 2’s and 4’s will be spaced with a minimum of 6 feet distance from other groups. Please do not move chairs around unless distance can be maintained, and we ask you use the same chair for the day. Feel free to bring your own chair, provided you maintain the proper distance.

We will not be offering lockers this year, as cleaning between uses could not be ensured.

This summer we will be eliminating our lost and found service of sorting and storing items that were left at the park. Please take extra care in collecting your belongings prior to your departure.

2020 Ticketing Procedure

For 2020, in order to keep our guests and staff safe, we are limiting capacity in the park.

In order to manage the number of guests in the park at a time, we are requiring our guests to purchase their passes in advance for the day they wish to visit. This will also allow us to have a record of the contact information for all the purchasers in the event that contract tracing is required.

We have reduced our individual pricing from 2019 to $23.00 including tax per person, regardless of height. Children under 36″ are still free.

When purchasing your passes, you’ll be directed to pick a day your passes will be valid for. We are open select days from 10:00 to 6:00 pm. Due to the capacity restraints and the changes in our operational days, we are not able to offer weekly or season passes for this year.

Guests who wish to change their reservation may do so up to 24 hours in advance by logging into their account and following the rebooking process there. All reservations are non-refundable.

If we decide to close the park due to weather conditions, we will will notify all guests with existing reservations by email or SMS, and they will be able to book a new day.

You will receive your passes by email. This email will include Terms & Conditions, which you should review. Please save your passes to your phone, and have them ready to scan when you arrive at the park.

Rescheduling Your Pass

We understand that sometimes plans change. Guests who wish to change their reservation may do so up to 24 hours in advance of the booking. That means you have up until the day before to reschedule your passes.

  • Do I have to book a day when I buy my pass?

Yes. For the safety of our guests and staff, we are significantly reducing our capacity to facilitate physical distancing.  In order to manage the number of guests in the park, we are requiring all guests buy online in advance for a specific day.

  • What if I don't have a credit card or debit card to buy online? Can I pay cash?

You will still need to book your passes ahead of time. Please call us at 902-963-3939  and we will make arrangements with you.

  • Should I bring a mask?

Yes, or you can purchase one for $1. As our safety checks and the nature of our rides may not allow for guests and staff to self distance, guests and staff will be required to wear a mask while waiting in line, loading, riding, and unloading all of the rides, for the entire duration of the ride. Guests will not be required to wear masks in the waterpark area, while swimming or on slides. While areas within the park allow for physical distancing, it is recommended that guests wear masks throughout their stay. Hand sanitizer is available in multiple locations to assist with proper donning and doffing of masks. Children who are too young to wear a mask, ie children under 36″, or who are unable to remove the mask without assistance, and those with medical reasons, will not be required to wear a mask. Staff will be trained in the proper procedures for donning and doffing non-medical masks.

  • What if I book a ticket and it rains?

Maritime Fun Group reserves the right to close the park due to weather conditions.  If the decision to close the facility is made prior to the facility opening for the day all guests with existing reservations will be notified by e-mail and SMS and be permitted to rebook.  We will also post up to date information on our social media platforms.

In the event we are forced to close the facility in the middle of the operating day due to extreme weather and that weather persists for more than one hour the park will close for the day and all guests will be automatically issued a return pass for the 2021 season.

  • Can I purchase a weekly or season pass for 2020?

Due to the capacity limitations we have in place and the change in operational days, we are not able to offer weekly or season passes for 2020, nor are able to honor those already purchased. We know this is a disappointment to our weekly and season pass holders and have contacted those guests who have already purchased these passes with some options.

  • Will you offer lockers this year?

In a typical year, lockers are available in the waterpark section of the park on a pay per use basis. The cost per use is $1. For 2020, these lockers will be taped off as cleaning between uses can not be ensured.

  • Can I bring my pet into the park?

In order to protect our animals, water quality and our guests, pets are not permitted within the park. We do have a limited number of shaded kennels available near the parking lot available on a first come, first serve basis. A refundable deposit is required for a lock, key and water dish.

  • Are picnics allowed?

Certainly! Shining Waters Family Fun Park has over 80 picnic tables within the property, including the beautiful Stewart Homestead Community Park. You may also picnic on the large shaded deck at Riddle's Take-Out. We do not allow coolers in the central waterpark to prevent glass breakage and reserve the right to search any cooler to protect the safety of our patrons.

  • Is there an additional charge for parking?

Shining Waters Family Fun Park has a large, FREE, parking lot!

  • Do you offer lifejacket rentals?

Lifejackets are available free of charge to non-swimmers. They may be obtained at the first aid station in the waterpark. We will add "used" bins near current life jacket racks so we can sanitize them for reuse.

  • Is there an additional charge for tubes?

Both single and double tubes are included in your admission charge so that you may enjoy our waterslides with a family member!

  • Is there a dress code?

Appropriate swimwear is required and subject to park approval. No jeans, pants with rivets, buckles chains or bikini thongs allowed. Riders are not permitted to wear sunglasses, glasses or water shoes on the slides.

  • Prosthesis, Casts, and Orthopedic Braces

Guests with prosthetic devices, orthopedic braces or missing limbs may enjoy all attractions in the waterpark provided that their particular device was designed for such an activity, that the activity will not aggravate a preexisting injury and they are able to maintain a correct riding position.

Guests with waterproof arm casts may ride both body slides provided they are able to maintain the correct riding position. They may not ride the tube slides due to the speed and turbulent nature of the ride as well as the necessity for full grip strength and range of motion on the tube. Guests with leg casts or neck braces may not ride any of the water slides.

Guests who are excluded from any park activities under this policy will qualify for a special reduced rate at the ticket booth.

  • Are there any restrictions on the slides?

Our slides are designed by a world leader in safety, but there are a few restrictions. Our duck slide on Turtle Cove Splash Pad can be enjoyed by children of all ages, although we would recommend that younger children wear a swim diaper, available in our gift shop.

The Slingshot and Catapult are designed to be enjoyed by children over 42″ tall. These traditional body slides have a unique run-out design, so the water is never deeper than 6- 8 inches. This is done to make younger children more comfortable and improve safety.

The Cannonbowl and Crossbow are tube slides. All sliders on the Cannonbowl must be over 48″ tall, but riders over 42″ tall can be accompanied on the Crossbow by a responsible rider over 48″ tall.

Personal flotation devices must be Transport Canada approved and be approved by staff before use. All personal flotation devices for someone under 90lbs must be self-righting.

Footwear, belt buckles, and pants with rivets or other sharp objects are not permitted on slides. To prevent damage and the introduction of glass or foreign objects to our water systems; loose objects including glasses are not permitted on the slides. Guests who wish may sign a waiver at the first aid station allowing them to hold glasses while riding the body slides. Guests are not permitted to hold glasses on the tube slides as this would prevent them from maintaining the correct riding position.

Goggles or facemasks which cover the eyes and nose are not permitted.

  • I'm not going on anything, do I still have to pay the admission charge?

Shining Waters Family Fun Park is a general admission park and pricing is based on all visitors paying the charge. This is traditional for this type of park as many of the activities within the park cannot restrict access to paying customers only. Please note that children under 36" tall do not pay the admission charges. If we were to move to a pay per ride basis, we would have to increase prices and increase staffing to restrict access to various attractions. We wish to avoid this and have selected the general admission approach to ensure the most enjoyable visitor experience for all of our guests.

  • What forms of payment are accepted?

We are pleased to accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit and American Express. Cash can be used in exceptional circumstances.

  • Is there an age requirement for the park?
Guests must be 12 years of age or older to enter the park unaccompanied.  Children 11 and under must be accompanied by an individual 16 years of age or older.
