UPEI Hosts Case Competition

UPEI hosted the 2019 Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) Worldwide Case Competition in February 2019. UPEI hosted the top sixteen which were chosen from a qualifying round in November of 2018. The student teams were brought together to compete in a number of case studies over the course of the week. The teams are presented with the case study and then must present their findings to a panel of judges within hours of first seeing the case.

NIBS Case Competitions

Charlottetown became only the second city in Atlantic Canada to host a NIBS championship round. St. John’s, Newfoundland has hosted 3 times in the 25 year history of the event. NIBS provides unique learning opportunities for thousands of students from around the globe each year. An opportunity for students to learn, compete with other competitive schools, and travel the world at the same time. 2020’s championship round will be hosted in Heilbronn, Germany at the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences.

Valuable Experience

Members of the UPEI team who participated in the event mentioned that it was one of the most challenging weeks for them during their university years. They also recognized it as an incredibly valuable learning experience, and one in which they enjoyed the challenge.

A Maritime Fun Connection

The competition committee asked President of Maritime Fun Group – PEI, Matthew Jelley to be a judge for this event. Matthew was pleased to take part in the event.

Congratulations to all the participants!
