The Legend of the Route 6 Motel<\/h1>\n

As the legend goes, the Route 6 Motel was nestled in a spruce grove in the centre of Cavendish, welcoming guests from all over the world with its promise of clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Located on the main entrance to the beach, it operated from its opening in 1955 until the mid 1970’s when the owner, George Lynde, ran into financial problems after a number of unexplained guest disappearances and “accidents” on the property. He was forced to close the motel in 1975 and the property has sat empty for the past 40 years, mostly ignored and falling into disrepair as the beach entrance was relocated.<\/span><\/h3>\n

More recently, as tourism booms in Cavendish, investors purchased the old motel intent on restoring it to its former glory and reopening it once again to happy families.<\/span><\/h3>\n
